Adolescent's Influences. (Final Series)

The average teenager. (Final Project piece)

Now I know not every teenager does these things and all that, I just thought the title was fitting. And I believe that it's self explanatory. Mostly because I don't wanna type anymore but also because it is. And everything was done the same way and means the same thing.

The Black Lung (Final Project Piece)

This is a pack of cigarettes. I know everyone thinks that's smoking is cool and hip or whatever it is the kids are saying nowadays. But not to me. I've lost three grandparents to Lung cancer, because they smoked their whole lives. And I have a grandparent right now battling lung cancer. And I hate to say it but this is usually a losing fight.
But anyway I basically again painted with acrylic and the background means the same thing.

A pill a day keeps the doctor away. (Final project piece)

So this is a bottle of prescription drugs. I just drew it out as well, and painted it with acrylic paint. I didn't put a label on any of these pieces because I didn't think it was very necessary. So yeah. The pills are also something I've seen a lot of considering my school is one of the ones considered a "Pharmacy".
The background like a said in the post before this one represents how messy getting involved with these kinds of things can get.

Liquid courage (Final Project piece)

So basically it's a beer bottle. I didn't really know how to draw one, but I did my best. It's just your average drink at a party, or a backyard barbecue. I drew it out, and used acrylic paint to paint it. I tried to get it that clear glass brown color, but it came out red so I just went with it.
On the background I got matting board for photographs, because it was the only thing laying around I could use. And I cut the board into 4 pieces for my series. I used melted wax from a candle. One of the candles was a cupcake candle and I used so much of it the bottom melted out and the wick and it's stand fell on the board. The wick was still lit so I was kind of freaking out. Luckily nothing was burned. After that I had to get a different candle of course. I wanted to paint the background messy to resemble the mess too much of this liquid courage can cause.

Final project thumb nails

These are thumbnails for my final project. I'm trying to focus on influences and their effects on teenagers. I decided to do this work because lately I've noticed these influences are dependent in some of my peers lives. People whom you would never think would get involved with drugs and alcohol are. It's like a necessity for teenagers to do. It seems like everywhere you look there are these substances and you can't really get away from them. So that's why I decided to do my project on these things.

I don't understand this, and I'm not really sure I want to. But I posted this because there are many different types and forms of art, and i want to focus on more than just painting with a brush and acrylics.

Street art

This is my street art project. It's a mixture of a lot of stuff. Pages from a book, my own little drawings and a few pictures I took. Then I a ton of paint and wax and some melted crayon. Also I added sand for more texture.
So I started by gluing down the book pages. And I added the the drawings and pictures. I painted over and around them. Then I added wax, and melted crayon. Then I put down the last picture, and added sand. And this we have this representation of street art.
